Obituary of Marion Jane Wendorf-Heaney

Marion Jane Wendorf-Heaney, age 88, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin went home with her Savior on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Wellington Meadows in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Marion was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on October 23, 1923, the daughter of Franklin and Ida (Blank) Staude. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1941. On June 24, 1944, Marion married Clayton Wendorf. Following their retirement, Marion and Clayton moved to Woodruff, Wisconsin until Clayton preceded her in death on April 22, 1993 and she moved back to Fort Atkinson. On May 6, 2000, Marion married Lawrence Heaney. Marion worked as a clerk/cashier for the Eagle Grocery Store and the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store in Fort Atkinson. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and it's missionary league. She loved her family and also enjoyed playing cards and traveling. Marion was an active member of the Fort Atkinson Senior Center and a volunteer for the Fort Atkinson Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are: her husband: Lawrence Heaney, Fort Atkinson, WI, her children: Karen (Dennis) Lembrich, Conroe , TX, Suzanne (Carl) Floerke, Fort Atkinson, WI, Allen (Debbie) Wendorf, Stoughton, WI, and James (Jacquelyn) Wendorf, Madison, WI, Step-children: Gerald (Suzanne) Heaney, Lynden, WA, Carol (Michael) Trepanier, Fond-du-Lac, WI, and Maureen (Michael) Brunette, West Bend, WI, 16 Grandchildren: Tammy (Tom) Crowell, Todd (Deanna) Lembrich, Sara (Pastor Mark) Hayes, Jonathon (Sarah) Floerke, Christopher (Heidi) Wendorf,�and Jesse Wendorf, Step grandchildren: Travis (Angela) Currier, Jeffrey Rostollan,�Jennifer Baskin,�Andrew and Thomas Heaney, Stephanie and Suzanne Trepanier, and Thomas, Robby and Maria Brunette, 16 Great-grandchildren, and her siblings:Patrick (Carolyn) Wiley, Paducah, KY, Charles (Ellen) Wiley, Alton, IL, and Carol (Wayne) Wogsland, Hockley, TX, Sisters-in-Law: Betty Kutz, Arlene Smith, and Charlotte Wendorf, and Brother-in-Law: James Schleicher . She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, step father Lloyd Wiley, �her husband Clayton, brother Lynn Staude and sister Joan Schleicher. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 05, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 404 Roosevelt Street, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Ethan Steinbrenner and Rev. Steven Wilkens officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI and after 10AM on Wednesday at the church until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, Lakeside Lutheran High School, Lake Mills, WI, or to Rainbow Hospice, Jefferson, WI. The family would like to thank Dr. Donald Williams, the staffs of Rainbow Hospice and Wellington Meadows for their compassionate care.
