Obituary of Geraldine Dorothy Zastrow

Geraldine (Gerry) Dorothy Zastrow, age 88,of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Wellington Meadows in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Gerry was born in Skokie, Illinois on August 3, 1924, the daughter of The late Charles and Clara (Wagner) Landerer. Gerry married Harold Zastrow on October 30, 1990 at St. Paul�s Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, WI. Gerry owned and operated an antique store in Fort Atkinson and managed the Grayslake Antique Show for 7 years. She also worked at Assisted Living Care Facilities. Gerry was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the Jefferson County Humane Society and a volunteer with Faith in Action and Respite Care. She enjoyed refinishing, reupholstering furniture, fishing and bowling. Surviving are: Her husband: Harold Zastrow, Fort Atkinson, WI, Daughter: Darlene (Richard) Heiden, Racine, WI, Stepdaughter: Sally Ceplina, Jefferson, WI, Stepson: David (Rose) Zastrow, Cambridge, WI, Grandchildren: Beth (Mike) Wells, Rochester, MN, Aaron Ceplina, Madison, WI, and Arielle Ceplina, Milwaukee, WI, and Sister-in-law: Irma Hartman, Muncie, IN. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews, many relatives and friends. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charles Landerer, Jr., a sister Lorraine Busby, and a grandson Brian Heiden. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 7, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 301 S. High Street, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Paul Scharrer and Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, September 7, 2012 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, WI or Leader Dogs for the Blind, Rochester Hills, MI.
