Obituary of Leroy Ellickson Egre

Leroy Ellickson Egre, age 94, of Cambridge, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Our House in Cambridge. Leroy was born on the family farm in the Town of Christiana, Wisconsin on July 12, 1918, the son of John and Minerva (Ellickson) Egre. He graduated from Cambridge High School. Leroy farmed his whole life on the family farm. On June 18, 1943, Leroy married Joyce L. Kirkpatrick at the First East Koshkonong Lutheran Church. Joyce preceded him in death on April 16, 1997. Leroy was a member of East Koshkonong Lutheran Church and the Cottage Grove Farmers Union. Surviving are: Children: Dennis (Susie) Egre, Cambridge, WI, Ronda (Marlin) Hensler Jr., Marshall, WI, Leanne (John) Namio, Freeport, IL, and James (Kathleen) Egre, Cambridge, WI, Eleven grandchildren: Kara Owens, Kelly, Andrew, and Alan Egre, Heidi (Neil) Knapton, Holli (Dan) Viken, Marlin (Trina) Hensler III, Cheri (Joe) Mercer, Nick (Melissa) Namio, and Kaity and Jeremiah Egre-Contreras, Seventeen Great-grandchildren, Sisters: Irene Jensen and Joan Horton, Brothers-in Law: Robert Crump and Van Kirkpatrick, and sister-in-Law: Mary Kirkpatrick Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce, a son Steven, sisters: Bernice, Carol, and Helen, an infant brother, as well as Joyce's brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, Town of Christiana, Wisconsin. Interment will be in East Koshkonong Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Christiana, WI. Friends may call from 4-7PM on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Nitardy Funeral home Chapel, Cambridge, Wisconsin and after 10AM on Tuesday at the church until the services.
