Obituary of Constance Kay Tanguay

Constance "Connie" Kay Tanguay, age 66, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Connie was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on December 28, 1945, the daughter of Leonard and Thelma (Mickolatcher) Smoker. She graduated from Sturgis High School in Sturgis, Michigan in 1963 and attended Western Michigan University for 2 years. On November 27, 1965, Connie married Jerome Tanguay in the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis, Michigan. Connie was a mother devoted to passing along her Christian faith to her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson and enjoyed singing in the St. Joseph's Adult Choir. Connie also sang with the Christian Faith Singers and the Interdenominational Choir. Connie was a source for purchasing religious articles such as rosaries, crucifixes and sacramental goods for the members of St. Joseph Parish. Surviving are: Husband: Jerome "Jerry" Tanguay, Fort Atkinson, WI, Children: Matthew Tanguay, Dallas, TX, Mark Tanguay, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Mary Tanguay, Fort Atkinson, WI, Three Grandchildren: Rachelle, Kendra, and Joshua, Brother: Ron (Sandra) Smoker, Mason, MI, and Three Sister: Charlene (Bob) Barko, Traverse City, MI, Cheryl (Mike) Laird, Port Angeles, WA, and Cindy Smoker, Indianapolis, IN Connie was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Jim and Steve. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd,Fort Atkinson,WI with Father Brian Wilk celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 5-7PM on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson with the parish rosary at 6:30PM and continued visitation after 10:30AM on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the church until the time of the Funeral Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
