Dave was kind enough to allow me into his deer camp so I could hunt with my friends (his sons) Matt and Luke during the years I return home to WI. I admittedly only knew Dave a short time, but am grateful for his willingness to welcome me with open arms and share in the tradition that is important to so many of us. We sure shared a lot of laughs in the short time I knew him. Helluva guy with a great family. Dave- you will be missed. Godspeed.

Dave was such a kind man and a good friend to my parents and our family. I am so sorry for the family's loss. I spent summers babysitting the Emrick kids and Dave always seemed excited to see his family when he got home after a long day of work at Crepaco. It was Dave who helped my Dad pick up my car that I had to leave along the interstate when I blew a hole through the engine. It was Dave that in turn helped my Dad replace the engine!
Bless you Emrick family as you mourn the loss of a special man, son, father and friend!

My deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences to Daves family at a time of such a loss. I worked with Dave at APV from 1987 till the closing of the shop. Dave made me feel welcome as a new employee, I always enjoyed Daves sense of hummor that always would help us thru the many changes that took place at AVP. Having Dave taken away at such a young age is hard to understand, He will be missed
My thoughts and prayers are with the family

Dave was a long-time friend. We played football on the same team in high school. Later, during our years in LaCrosse we partied together and enjoyed the outdoors together. We spent time fishing for northern pike while wadding on the Missippi in the early 1970's. Our children grew to know each other later as we spent years in Fort. When I got my masters degree our families traveled to northern Wisconsin to celebrate. We fished for muskies on the Chippewa Flowage. Over the years we hunted together for pheasants, fox, and deer. We fished together on Lake Michigan for salmon and trout. He was a Jeep fan and I bought Jeeps for over 30 years primarily because he turned me on to the brand.
We lost touch when I divorced in 1985 and I moved to Ohio. I regret not staying in touch. I guess I thought he would always be around so we could "catch up".
My sincerest condolences to his family for his loss. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to his children and family. I first met David when he moved in next door to me in the early 70"s in Fort Atkinson. My son Christopher and his son Mathew were born in 1973. We both were fathers for the first time.
As neighbors we shared many good times playing cards with two other couples.
I did not know he was seriously ill. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
May he rest in peace. May God Bless his loved ones.
