Obituary of Wayne Thomas Murray

Wayne Thomas "Tom" Murray, age 80, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. Wayne was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on March 17, 1932, the son of Albert and Frances (Boelter) Murray. He graduated from Watertown High School the Class of 1952. Wayne served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Luxor Lighting Company for 5 years and for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company 20 years. On November 22, 1980, Wayne married Adela "Esther" Garcia at St. John's Catholic Church in Jefferson, WI. Tom was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Atkinson and the VFW. He enjoyed camping, bowling and Irish Fest. He loved his dogs and motorcycles. Tom had been married to and survived by the former Audrey Gomoll the mother of their four surviving children: Gregory, Gary, Cindy, and Jeremy. He is further survived by: Wife: Esther Murray, Step Children: David W. Garcia, Fred M. Garcia, and Daniel P. Garcia, Two Grandchildren: Megan and Brett, Step-Grandchildren, Sister: Donna (Edward) McFarland, Watertown, WI, Mother-in-law Helen Gomoll, Sister-in-law Susan Murray, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert "Bob" Murray, step-son Andrew Scott Garcia, and niece Ann Beranek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 21, 2012, at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd, Fort Atkinson,WI with Father Brian Wilk celebrating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI. Friends may call after 8:30AM on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to The Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
