Obituary of Matthew George McCready

Matthew George McCready, age 55, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Matthew was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on October 5, 1957, the son of Donald and Sally (Wyman) McCready. He attended Whitewater High School. From childhood onward Matt was especially talented in understanding and designing electrical circuits and systems. From 1974 through1978 he served in the U.S. Navy as an Operation Specialist on a destroyer during several Pacific ocean tours. On September 12, 1993, Matthew married Laura Hernandez in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Matthew worked for Accurate, Inc. in Whitewater, WI, designing electrical control systems. He also worked for Briggs and Stratton in Jefferson, WI, doing Quality Engineering until they closed down. Then he pursued, and recently obtained an AD degree in Finance at Madison Area Technical College�on December 20, 2012 . His greatest love in life was spending time with his children. He enjoyed teaching his children about his hobbies like downhill skiing and golfing. He also enjoyed constructing his own homes. He will be greatly missed by his family. Surviving are: Wife: Laura McCready, Whitewater, WI, Children: Branden McCready, Whitewater, WI, Shelby McCready, Cottage Grove, WI, Ian McCready, Whitewater, WI, Isaac McCready, Whitewater, WI, and Eli McCready, Whitewater, WI, Father: Donald McCready, Whitewater, WI and Two Brothers: Ben (Anne) McCready, Whitewater, WI and Sam McCready, Monona, WI. Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Sally (Wyman) McCready. A visitation will be held from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI. A luncheon will follow the visitation at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the McCready Children Memorial Fund at the First Citizen's Bank in Whitewater, WI.
