Teachers like Jack, where the norm in Fort. They cared, they invited you to learn, and encouraged even the slower of us. When I reached college, much of what he taught came flooding back to me. He had suceeded in getting it in. Thanks for sharing him with all of us eight graders in Fort. He remains bright in my mind as I attempt to share that knowledge with my grandchildren. He lives on. RIP

Such a precious man. New to FAHS my junior year, he made me feel comfortable having to take a science class with sophomores. Always encouraging and caring. So sad that Nancy has lost two loved ones so close together. May she find comfort, strength and peace through our Lord, Jesus.

Jack Cummings was one of the best teachers who taught at Ft. Atkinson High School and I was lucky enough to have him as a teacher for both Biology and Advanced Science. He motivated us to explore new and exciting things in the world of Biology and was always available to answer questions and provide assistance. Those of us who had him as a teacher were very lucky and will not forget him.

An inspiring teacher to someone just coming out of a grade school with no science! I was enthralled, and consider him one of the best teachers from HS and wish I'd had him as an instructor in college. My thoughts are with his family at this hard time of a double loss.

Without question, Dr. Cummings was my favorite professor at UW-W. He took us to new places in the classrom as well as the workshop (and yes, Big Pine Key over Christmas/New Year's Break was a wonderful new place!) and it was clearly evident he loved his work with a deep and abiding passion. The honors that UW-W bestowed upon him were well deserved and honestly earned.
He demonstrated that it's not merely possible, but should be normative, to have joy in your avocation, as well as deep satisfaction and contentment.
To Dr. Cummings' family; you played a critical, integral, role in who he was and, so, I'm also grateful for your support. Be blessed!
Matthew; Class of '78.
