Obituary of Anton P. Allert

Anton (Tony) P. Allert Sr, age 75, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer and COPD, never complaining about himself and always worrying about his family and loved ones. Anton was born in LaValle, Wisconsin on December 30, 1937, the son of Ervin and Sarah (Leastman) Allert Sr. He attended Wonewoc High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. On October 24, 1959, Anton married Lenora Thormann at the Open Bible Church. Anton worked at Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson for 32 1/2 Years and then at SuperWash in Fort Atkinson/Jefferson/Edgerton for 8 years. Anton enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. He loved talking with the people at the car wash, going to the Fort Family Restaurant, visiting with friends and was an avid fan of the Packers and Brewers. He enjoyed spending time with his cat Buttons which provided great joy and comfort to him. Surviving are: Wife: Lenora Allert, Fort Atkinson, WI, Two Daughters: Brenda (Mark) Catton, Fort Atkinson, WI and Linda (Steve) Zarnstorff, Fort Atkinson, WI, Grandchildren: Kayla & Nicholas Catton, Sisters: Shirley (Fritz) Winecki, Reedsburg, WI and Helen (William) Lucht, Fort Atkinson, WI, Brother-in-law: Jerry Spohnholz, Arkansas, Sister-in-law: Carol Allert, LaValle, WI and nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and Rainbow Hospice for all the loving care and support they gave to the family and especially Tony. Anton was preceded in death by his parents, a son Anton Jr, brother Ervin Jr, and sister Caroline Spohnholz. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013, at 6:00 PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI with Chaplain Shannon Finger officiating. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 5PM on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson until the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, Wisconsin, in lieu of flowers.
