Obituary of Ellen Ida Mehltretter

Ellen Mehltretter, 93, Helenville, WI passed away on Thursday, June 13th, 2019 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek, WI.


Ellen was born on April 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Chester and Elsie (Hachtel) Grant.  She married Lyle Mehltretter on November 17, 1945 and together they farmed for many years in Helenville.


She is survived by her children Bonnie (Jack) Stark of Lake Mills, Marilyn Mehltretter of Sun Prairie, Wayne Mehltretter of Helenville, and Lorie (Jason) Anderson of Wales; grandchildren, Amy Stark, Jenny Aaron) Rechlin, Greg (Kendra) Blumenberg, and Autumn Anderson; great-grandchildren, Austin Rechlin, Kylie Rechlin and Landon Blumenberg; brother, Roger (Joan) Grant.
Ellen is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


She was also preceded in death by husband, Lyle; sons, Lawrence and Ronald; sisters, Virginia Wendt and Arlene Northey; and a brother, James Grant.

In Ellen’s honor funeral services will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Jefferson.  Visitation will take place from 10 AM until the time of services.  A burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery in Rome.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Immanuel United Methodist Church 201 E. Racine St, Jefferson, Wi 53549 or Rainbow Hospice Care 1225 Remmel Dr, Johnson Creek, Wi 53094.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient staff for their tremendous care for Ellen.
