Lillian Schwerdtfeger

Obituary of Lillian Bernice Schwerdtfeger

Lillian Bernice Schwerdtfeger, 88, of Sullivan passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Fort Memorial Hospital.

Lillian was born on January 21, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana to Chester and Myrtle (Evenson) Harris. On December 23, 1950 Lillian married Herman Schwerdtfeger and together they had two children.

She enjoyed a variety of different activities. She loved to bake desserts all the time and would make Christmas cookies and fudge for the family every year.  She loved to sew and could mend almost anything, and did some knitting and crocheting in her younger years.  She loved to go fishing whenever she could and enjoyed many years as a member of a bowling league team in Rome with wonderful friends. She liked playing board games of any kind or card games, and even the most recent video games, keeping the grandkids up until the wee hours of the night. If she wasn’t busy doing something or going somewhere she was bored.  Animals were always welcome in her home and heart.  She had many dogs, cats and birds over the years and each one was loved dearly. She left behind her devoted dog Buddy and her two cats Hazel and Shadow.

Lillian is survived by her children, Diane (William) Petrie of Milton, Daniel (Jeanne) Schwerdtfeger of Whitewater; grandchildren, Danny (Karen) Schwerdfeger Jr., Chad (Paula) Schwerdtfeger, Deanna (Jay) Kalbus, Kerri (Bob) Rick, Angie Ripley, Tracy (Jesse) Glatczak, Christopher Fisher, twelve great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lorraine Lubasz of Jefferson, Lorretta Walker of Fort Atkinson, Ruth Nehmer (Jim Leisendfelder) of Townsend, Wisconsin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Herman, brother Howard Harris and Grandson Shawn Petrie
