Obituary of Ron Engler

Ronald Edward Engler, 88, Cambridge, WI formerly of Waterloo, WI was called home by his Lord on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Home Again Assisted Living in Cambridge, WI.

Ron was born on March 16, 1930 in Waupun, WI to Edwin and Edna (Staude) Engler.  He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1948 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from UW-LaCrosse in 1954.  On August 11, 1951 he married Marjorie Haferman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson.  Ron served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.  

Ron and Marjorie resided in Waterloo, WI where he owned Engler Insurance Agency.  They moved to Cambridge, WI where he was a member of the Lake Ripley Country Club for many years.  Golfing was his passion. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Marjorie, Cambridge; children David (Colleen) Engler, Cambridge, Pamela (Michael) Christman, Muskego; grandchildren Angela (Ross) Dora, Megan Radeck, Elizabeth (Jon) Hurley, Rachel (Joe) Sellhausen; great-grandchildren Ethan and Ava Dora, Mason and Logan Hurley, Elliana, Mira, Joey and Mitchell Sellhausen, Nolan Radeck.  He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson-in-law Justin Radeck.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00am at St. John Lutheran Church, 439 E. Madison St., Waterloo, WI 53594.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
