Obituary of Sylvia Ann Brown

Sylvia Ann Brown, 86, peacefully passed away after a brief illness Sunday, September 16, 2018. She was surrounded by family.

Sylvia was born on November 17, 1931, to Obert and Alice Wogsland in Nelsonville, WI. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1949 and worked at Tuttle’s Pharmacy for most of her adult life. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

A loving, giving mother and loyal friend, Sylvia enjoyed attending rosemaling, knitting, and sewing classes. She also enjoyed gardening and watching the Packers. She taught rug hooking at MATC for several years.

Sylvia is survived by her children, Jeff (Theresa) Brown of S. Milwaukee, Becky (Bill) Ericsen of Platteville, and Lori (Steve) Wiesmann of Fort Atkinson; her brother, Wayne Wogsland of Houson, TX, grandchildren Jen LaLuzerne, Ben and Tim Ericsen, Katie Shuppe, Eric Wiesmann; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James (Jim) Brown, her parents, and her brothers, Neal and Lyle Wogsland.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11:00am at  Trinity Lutheran Church, 314 Barrie St., Fort Atkinson, WI 53538.  Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Fairhaven or to Rainbow Hospice.

The family would like to thank Fort Atkinson Hospital, ProHealth Rehabilitation Hospital, Fairhaven, and Rainbow Hospice for their excellent care of Sylvia. Many thanks to the friends, neighbors, and family who cheered Sylvia with their warm thoughts in notes and cards, and a special thanks to Vern and Shelly Turner for being there when Sylvia needed them the most!
