Obituary of Donna Mae Speer
Donna Mae Speer, 75, of Fort Atkinson passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 7, 1943 to Fred and Beatrice (Neumann) Speer in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1961. She married David Hupke on June 30, 1962 and together they had three children. They later divorced.
Donna worked many years as a waitress until she found a job she truly loved…driving cab for Brown Cab Service. She loved the daily visits with her fellow drivers and those she drove around town, forming many friendships along the way.
Her hobbies included thrift shopping, bowling and watching the Green Bay Packers.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Fort Atkinson.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Thomas Seidel; son-in-law, David Pauline; and granddaughter, Jodi Kasmar.
She is survived by her children, Debra (DuWayne) Metzker of Phillips, Dixie (Gerald) Kasmar of Cambridge, Donald (Tina) Hupke of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Tami (Anthony Hill) Gavin, Toni (Phil Rodriguez) Pauline, Savanna Young, Dion (Amanda) Hupke, Dawson Redinius, Elizabeth (Bradley) Moore, Jennifer (Mike) Paitel, Troy (Renee) Kasmar, Josh Weiss, Dereck Martin, Olivia Martin, Amber (Shane) Motley, Ryan Metzker; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Seidel of Milwaukee, June (Paul) Pfeifer of Elroy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and her Brown Cab family.
Visitation will take place at Nitardy Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 18th from 5 pm-7 pm and the memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 19th at 11:00 am. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, with visitation an hour before the service at church.
