Obituary of DeLane H. Gjertson

DeLane H. Gjertson, age 83 passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his family on July 19, 2018.

He was born on April 21, 1935 in Stoughton, WI to Melvin and Emma (Anderson) Gjertson. He spent his early life in Stoughton, Rockdale, Utica, and Edgerton.

DeLane served in the Air National Guard from 1953 to 1961. He worked for Highway Trailer in Edgerton then Crepaco in Lake Mills.

On June 10, 1989 he married Jerilyn Jensen. Following their marriage they lived in Fort Atkinson, WI

He enjoyed following the Home Talent baseball teams, watching sports on TV, and his 3 cats Brody ,Furgy, and Zachery.

He is survived by his wife Jerilyn, 2 children from his 1^st marriage; Linda (Darrell) Ellifson of Arbor Vitae, WI and Ron Gjertson, of Mundelein, IL. 5 grandchildren Erik (Patti) Ellifson, Nick (Sharon) Ellifson, Brent (Kayla) Ellifson, Jessica (Scott) Reilly, and Matt Gjertson. Great-grandchildren Connor, Tyler, Brennan, Archer and Clayton Ellifson and Lanie Reilly.

He is further survived by his Brother in law Dale (Shirley) Jensen and Sisters in law Dawn Weckler, Jackie (Dean) Amundson, Robin (John) Blackstone, Marion Gjertson and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Merle, Roger, and Donald and Brother in law LaVerne Weckler.

A Memorial service will take place on Monday July 30^th at 11AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home 1008 Madison Ave. Fort Atkinson, WI. Friends may visit with the family from 10AM until time of service.

Memorials to Rainbow Hospice or Touched by a Paw would be appreciated.
