Obituary of Rev. Marlyn O. Kempf
Rev. Marlyn O. Kempf, 94, Fort Atkinson, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Rainbow Hospice Center in Johnson Creek, WI.
Marlyn was born on June 18, 1923 in the Town of Bloomfield, Waushara County, WI to Ervin and Martha (Nowak) Kempf. He attended Weyauwega High School. Marlyn served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the National Guard 32nd Red Arrow Division. He married Helen F. Vande Hei of Kaukauna on September 18, 1943. He married Marjorie Behm Schall on February 3, 1956. Marlyn was ordained into the ministry on October 5, 1973. Marlyn worked at a wide variety of jobs before becoming disabled in 1970. He has spent the last 45 years preaching and writing about his faith.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, Fort Atkinson; children Donna (Roger) Lueder, Patricia Hall, Jean Erickson, Mary (Gerald) Larsen, Dennis (Jolene) Kempf, Kurtis (Donna) Kempf, and Kristie Kempf; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sister Iona Ratajczak; brother-in-law David (Mary) Behm; sister-in-law Maxine (Bill) Paxson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Raymon; sister Arlien; grandson Lief Erickson; great-grandson Liam Teggatz.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00am at the Willerup Methodist Church 414 W. Water St., Cambridge, WI 53523. Burial will follow at the Willerup Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave, Fort Atkinson, WI on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm and at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
