Obituary of Connie Louise Hartwig

Connie Louise Hartwig, 77, Fort Atkinson passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Connie was born on October 31, 1946, in Litchfield, Illinois to Dallas and Dorothy (Merriman) White.  She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1964.  Connie moved to Wisconsin after high school and lived with her aunt and uncle, Louise and Woody White.  She met her husband, Marlin Hartwig, at Calvary Baptist Church in Jefferson.  They were married in Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Illinois on April 25, 1970.  Connie was at first a stay-at-home mother.  She then started a small childcare business in her home.  She loved small children and they loved her.  Connie later worked at Wal-Mart for 16 years.  She was a wonderful cook and always had tasty meals for her family.  Connie loved traveling on vacation to scenic and historical sites.  Connie served her Lord and Savior Jesus by accepting Him into her heart and life by grace through faith.  After becoming a Christian, she wanted to serve the Lord. Connie taught Sunday School, directed Christmas programs, did daily vacation bible school, sang in the choir and helped at the church’s county jail service. Connie dealt with some physical issues with much strength and patience.

She is survived by her husband Marlin; sons: Curtis, DuWayne, and Nathan (Kimberly); four grand-daughters: Madelyn, Emma, Grace and Elsie; great-grandson Oakley; sisters Sandra White, and Dana (Patrick) Dietschweiler; brother Donald (Janet) White; sister-in-law Patti White. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Danny White.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 11:00am at Calvary Baptist Church 971 W. Milwaukee St. Jefferson, WI 53549.  Burial will follow in the Rock River Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00am until the time of the service.
