Obituary of Carol Annette Widell

Carol Annette Widell, 80, Fort Atkinson, passed away on December 30, 2023 at her home in Fort Atkinson.

Carol was born on October 15, 1943 in Stoughton, WI to Hildus and Margaret (Martinson) Tofte.  She graduated from Stoughton High School.  Carol was employed over the years with Schweigers, Watertown Metal and Bobcat.  She enjoyed sewing and made many quilts.  She also enjoyed camping in her younger years.  She loved playing mini golf and going to see a new movie.  She also loved going for pontoon rides on Lake Koshkonong.  She enjoyed going for car rides enjoying the scenery with Arnie and watching her son and grandson driving their mini rod for Tri County Pullers. 

Carol loved her family dearly.  She was one of the strongest women we knew.  She had no problem speaking her mind if you messed up.  She was one who could make a bad time good with kind words.  She would light up a room with her smiles, laughter and love. She will be missed by all.  She is now our Angel.

She is survived by her sons Dion (Carrie) Walling, Fort Atkinson, and Dennis (Shelley) Walling, Johnson Creek; 5 Grandsons  Justin (Brittany), Cameron (Shelby), Ryan, Braden and Kyle; Step-grandchildren Ashley Schmidt, Lake Mills, and Tyler (Brittney) Schmidt, Janesville; 3 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren; brother Hildus (Dee) Tofte, Janesville; Partner Arnold Blasing, Fort Atkinson.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Douglas Walling.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00pm at Nitardy Funeral Home 1008 Madison Ave Fort Atkinson, WI 53538.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00pm until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.nitardyfuneralhome.com
