Obituary of Virginia J Bartula

Virginia J Bartula, 86, of Fort Atkinson passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Wellington Meadows assisted living.

Virginia was born on July 9, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Leon and Sophie (Lukaszczyk) Kolnicki.  On May 2, 1959 Virginia married Ignacy Bartula in Chicago. Ignacy passed in 1992.

Virginia was a member of the Evansville Seventh Day Adventist church.

She loved traveling and loved her dogs.

Virginia is survived by step-brother, Frank (Tina) Kolnicki of Missouri, dearest friends, Duane and Vicki Renz; and best friend and companion, Richard Pagni.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Sophie Kolnicki; and husband, Ignacy Bartula.

Special thanks to Virgnia’s dear friends Duane and Vicki for their exceptional care for Virgina over the years.

A memorial service will take place at 1PM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson.  A visitation will take place from 11AM until the time of service.  A burial will take place at a later date at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
