Obituary of Heather Lyn Henning

Heather Lyn Henning, age 57, of Phoenix AZ, passed away on Thursday November 23, 2023.Heather was born in DeKaIb IL on October 24th, 1966. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1984 and the University of WI-Whitewater in December 1990 with Bachelor of Arts degree. She married Billy Schaffer on December 23rd 2016, he preceded her in death on September 11, 2017. Heather moved to the Phoenix area about 30 years ago and was employed in the hospitality business. She most recently worked as an assistant manager at an apartment complex in Phoenix which she did for many years. She preferred the sun and warmth verses the cold winters in Wisconsin. Heather will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Friends from grade school, high school, and college and the complex where she lived and worked.

Heather is survived by her parents Donley and Judith Henning, siblings Molly. (Stan) Kempema, George (Lisa) Purucker, Alice (Dale Buckingham) Purucker, Heidi (Doug Mraz) Henning, Lee (Holly Block) Henning, Luke (Pamela Brown) Purucker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nancy (Reed) Henning, her sister Lyn Thormann, grandparents Benjamin and Cora Henning, Ray and Ruth Reed and Jean and Oscar Hanson and her Uncle Marvin Henning.

Memorial Services for Heather and her sister Lyn Thormann will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 11 :00am at Bethany Lutheran Church 404 Roosevelt St. Fort Atkinson, WI 53538. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00am until the time of the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. A luncheon will follow.
