Obituary of Virgil B Kelter

Virgil Bruce Kelter, age 87, of Cambridge, WI passed away on October 27, 2023, at Alden Estates in Jefferson, WI surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 20, 1936, to Hubert and Norma Kelter and raised on their farm in Black Earth. Virgil joined the US Navy in June 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1962. A blind date was the start of a long, beautiful 64 years of marriage to Donna Moyer on September 19, 1959.

Survivors include his loving wife Donna; sons, Jim (Lori) Kelter, Jon Kelter, and Joe (Jodi) Kelter all of Cambridge; three granddaughters, Jenna (Nick) Luchsinger, Shelby Kelter, and Rachel Kelter; two great-granddaughters, Vivian and Evelyn Luchsinger; Brother, Clarmont (Paula) Kelter; Sisters, Lois Ballweg, Audrey Timmons, Joyce (Dale) Brager, Victoria Brodt and Gloria (Tom) Hefty; and all of his extended family.

Virgil will be remembered for his great love of his wife and family, spending time in his shop, and always keeping busy at the farm.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Lee Kelter, Dixie Statz, Margaret Fass, Lucille Burns, and Freda Goth.

A memorial service will take place at 11AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Wisconsin, with military honors to follow outside of the church.  A visitation will take place from 9AM until the time of service.
