Obituary of Rollen R. Syck

Rollen R. Syck, age 74 of Palmyra, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Rollen was born on September 14, 1940 in Coal Run, Kentucky the son of Donathan and Ersa (Gross) Syck. On July 13, 1965, Rollen married Mary (Sammons). Together they had five children: Ronnie (Marianne) Syck, Connie (Mark) Kottwitz, David Syck, Terry (Leslie) Syck, and Joshua (Melissa) Syck. Rollen served three tours in Vietnam as a Marine in the 1960's. Rollen was employed at Alpha Cast in Whitewater for many years. Rollen loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved gardening, woodworking, attending auctions and flea markets, fishing, and watching WWE Wrestling. Rollen is survived by his loving wife Mary, son Ronnie (Marianne), daughter Connie (Mark), son David, son Joshua (Melissa), daughter-in-law Leslie, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers James and Freddy, sisters Betty Ann, Nellie, Cathy, and Aunt Sarah Horn. Rollen was preceded in death his son Terry in 2014, his parents Don and Ersa Syck, brothers: Willard, Floyd, and Cleo, sisters: Mary Lou as an infant, and Lorraine Reynolds. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, WI. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Palmyra, Wisconsin with military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 3-6PM on Monday, July 6, 2015 and after 12PM on Tuesday at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, WI until the time of the services.
