Obituary of Alvina Nelda Korth

Alvina Nelda Korth, age 97 of Cambridge, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015, at her home. Alvina was born in Chili, Wisconsin on October 30, 1917, the daughter of August and Louise (Schilling) Foemmel. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and she began her teaching career in 1937, retiring for the Cambridge School District in 1984. Following her retirement she went on to teach at Utica Christian School. On June 8, 1946, Alvina married Wilbert Emil Korth in Chili, Wisconsin. Wilbert preceded her in death on April 2, 2008. Wilbert and Alvina farmed in York Center, Wisconsin until 1952, when they moved to farm in Cambridge, WI. Alvina was a former member of the Willerup United Methodist Church in Cambridge where she taught Sunday school for many years and participated with the Willerup Summer Bible Camp. She was currently a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Utica. Surviving are two daughters: Gloria (Brian) Borchardt of Fort Atkinson, WI and Linda (David) Drews of Cambridge, WI, seven grandchildren: Wesley (Linda) Borchardt, Scott (Dawn) Borchardt, Andrea (Nate) Feig, Cheryl (Austin) Naber, Shane (Jennifer) Swalheim, Trevor Swalheim, and Andrew Swalheim, two step-grandchildren: Becky Drews and Shawndel Drews, seventeen great-grandchildren, sister Violet (Walter) Korth of Cambridge, WI and brother Forest Foemmel of Chili, WI. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbert, and a sister Adeline Lee. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Bible Baptist Church of Utica, 2095 Hwy W , Stoughton, Wisconsin with the Rev. Ronald Kutz officiating. Interment will be in Willerup Methodist Cemetery, Cambridge, WI. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Bible Baptist Church of Utica, until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the Utica Christian School. "When her children were young she liked to listen to the Christian Radio Station in Madison.
