Obituary of David Paul Bielefeldt

David Paul Bielefeldt, age 83, of Fort Atkinson, WI went to join his Savior in heaven on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. He died peacefully at home following a recent diagnosis of lymphoma. David was born on July 28, 1932 to Paul Henry Lewis and Selma Johanna (nee Punzel) Bielefeldt. David is survived by his loving wife and best friend Lois (nee Peterson). They were married on October 24, 1953 and soon would have celebrated 62 years together. David was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was blessed with daughters: Jean (Darryl) Koch, Susan (Jim) Sorg, and Kathryn Bielefeldt. David will be remembered for the many hours spent playing cards and games with his grandsons: Steve (Brooke) Koch, Brian (Kate) Koch, James Koch, and Charlie and Sam Sorg. He enjoyed being with his great-grandchildren: Greyson, Finnegan, Clara, and Rose Koch. David is also survived by his step-sister Marjorie Langholff. David was a gifted athlete and avid golfer. He was honored to be inducted into the Fort Atkinson Wall of Fame for his many athletic achievements. David served his Country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. David was employed for 28 years by Wisconsin Energy as a troubleman. Upon retirement, David and Lois spent the last 20 winters at their home in Tucson, Arizona enjoying beautiful weather and many good friends. Visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, WI with services to follow at 11AM. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David's name to Bethany Lutheran Church. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family.
