Obituary of Lydia Holz

Lydia (Lee) Holz, passed away on December 24, 2015, in Cambridge, WI. She was 94 years old. Lydia was born on January 8, 1921, in Oak Park, IL, to Otto and Alvina Koenig Mueller. She later moved to Milwaukee, WI, where she graduated from North Division High School in 1939.� She met the love of her life, Norbert (Bud) Holz at Gens Printing Company and they were married on Valentine�s Day, 1943, and their marriage lasted almost 73 years.� Lydia waited patiently while Bud served their country during WWII, supported him as he received his college degrees, and then accompanied him into foreign diplomatic service.� She came into her own in each of the 5 countries in which they resided, volunteering for several charities, hosting diplomatic functions and learning how to paint, play golf, play bridge.� A dancer in high school, she was able to rekindle that love by taking up Latin dancing with her husband.� In 1978, Bud and Lydia retired to Fort Atkinson, WI, where they became very active in their church, the Twice Is Nice Resale Shop, and the Club 46 Dance Club.� Lydia also was a member of the women�s club, several bridge groups, and, in her 80�s, the Twilight Tappers.   Lydia is survived by her 3 children, Kathleen (Peter) Grunwald, Christine (Ken) Rust, and John (Kathleen) Holz and by her 8 grandchildren, Korrin (Quinn) Gumieny, Cecily (Patrick) Kittridge, Erin (Andrew) Quinn, Andrew (Jennifer) Macmillan, Matthew (Tiffany) Holz, Rebecca Holz, Jenessa Holz, and Jacob (Molly) Holz. She is further survived by 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Adele Behling and Adeline York, and by a nephew, Ronald Behling. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul�s Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, or Twice Is Nice Resale Shop in Jefferson, WI. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Paul�s Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Paul Scharrer officiating.
