Obituary of Michael D. Sahr

Michael D. Sahr, age 62, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin went to live in his eternal home in heaven on Friday, December 25, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Mike was born on July 31, 1953 in Fort Atkinson, and graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1971. He married Victoria Schimek on July 29, 1972, and together they raised 3 children. Mike was an independant truck driver for many years. He is survived by his wife Vickie, 3 children: Thomas (Cheryl) Sahr of Juneau, Robert (Angela) Sahr of Fort Atkinson, and Wendy (Jason) Foerster of Fort Atkinson, 9 Grandchildren: Chelsea and Kayla Sahr, Kodie Freriks, Owen, Chloe, and Callie Sahr, Ian, Isaac, and Emily Foerster. 7 brothers and sisters: Barb Dallman, Mary Lou (Donnie) Simonson, Judy (Terry) Thomson, Larry (Linda) Sahr, David (Roberta) Sahr, Ellen (Rich) Gilbertson, and Dennis (Sharon) Sahr. Mike is also survived by many other relatives and friends. He greatly loved his family and was actively involved in his grandchildren's lives. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Doris (Hitch) Spitzer, a very special grandson Caden Sahr, 2 brothers: Gary and Richard, and father-in-law: Lyle Schimek. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson with pastor William Bartz officiating. Friends may call after 10:00 am on Thursday at the church until the time of service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him as he could always make them laugh.
