Obituary of Sharon Lynn Noonan

Sharon Lynn (Petersen) Noonan, 76, Whitewater passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Jefferson Memory Care with her family at her side. Sharon was born on April 10, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Orval and Marie (Hunter) Petersen. She graduated from West Division High School in 1957, and for much of her life she worked as a secretary. Having a great vocabulary, and a flair with a pen, Sharon was known for her exceptional writing, whether it was a letter to the mayor or a lovely childrens book. She was funny; she loved to make people laugh and could keep up with the best of them, too. She was an excellent pianist, who loved the theater, and the cinema and New York City. She was a fierce advocate for animals and she cherished her rescue menagerie. She was happiest however, spending time with her family; her grandchildren holding the keys to her heart. She will be missed greatly by them. She is survived by her children; Brian (Mayumi Miguel) Noonan, Randolph, NJ, Karen (James) McCulloch, Whitewater, WI, Patrick (Leah) Noonan, Yonkers, NY., Grandchildren; Marren, Elliott and Benjamin McCulloch, Zoe and Orlando Noonan, Siblings; Carol (Calvin) Taylor, Jefferson, William (Kathy) Petersen, Brookfield, Peggy (Louie) Weber, Bay City, OR, Tim (Maggie) Petersen, North Carolina, Dan Petersen, Milwaukee, Pat Petersen, WI, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Searles. A celebration of her life will be held onTuesday, March 1st at the Cravath Lake Community Center from11am-3 pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to the Jefferson County Humane Society, Touched by a Paw, Community Cat, or the Valley of the Kings. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, WI is assisting the family.
