Obituary of Dale Burton Truman

Dale Burton Truman, age 76, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Dale was born in Lima Center, Wisconsin on December 12, 1939, the son of Lawrence and Lilly (Jones) Truman. Dale grew up in Whitewater, Wisconsin and in 2009 the family moved to Fort Atkinson. On February 20, 1960, Dale married Emogene "Jean" Cogar in the Whitewater Bible Church, Whitewater, WI. Dale worked for Lycon Ready Mix for 37 years and was a member of the Whitewater Fire Department for 20 years. He played softball into his 40's, leading the Kiddleywink Softball Team to Nationals. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid follower of the Badgers, Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and UW-Whitewater. Surviving are: Wife: JeanTruman, Fort Atkinson, WI, Two Children: Vickey (Ed) Stauff, East Troy, WI, and Jeffrey (Kris) Truman, Fort Atkinson, WI, Five Grandchildren: Nathan Stauff, Nicholas (Kim) Stauff, Jessica (Christopher) Strang, Amanda Truman, and Emilee Truman, Four Great-grandchildren: Riley Stauff, Paige Stauff, Elliott Strang, and Harrison Stauff, Siblings: Shirley Starks, Edgerton, WI, Jean Shoemaker, Whitewater, WI, Jolene (Dennis) Kempf, Madison, WI, Larry (Irene) Truman, Missouri, Charles (Alice) Truman, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Robert (Diane) Truman, Janesville, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Harley and George Truman. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at 6:00 PM at the Nitardy Funeral Homes Chapel, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Ethan Steinbrenner officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6PM on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Nitardy Funeral Home until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
