Obituary of Joseph Christopher Yaeger

Joseph Christopher Yaeger, 89, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Joseph was born on September 4, 1926 in Floral Park, NY. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as an Electronics Technician. Joseph married Audrey Kelly on May 14, 1949. He worked as an electrical engineer for Boeing and was involved in the production of the minute man missiles. In the 1960's they moved to Fort Atkinson where he worked for Thomas Industries and then finished his career with Madison based Ohio Medical where Joseph was involved in the design and manufacturing of neonatal incubators. As a city kid growing up in the Bronx, Joseph enjoyed the country life and spent many hours on their hobby farm. He also enjoyed fixing cars and anything that was electrical. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Audrey, Daughter, Susan "Sky" (Tom) Yaeger-Franges, San Rafael, CA., Sons; Joseph (Gale) Yaeger III, Cambridge, WI., Daniel (Karen) Yaeger, Cambridge, WI., Granddaughter, Raelaine E. Yaeger and Grandson, Joseph Yaeger IV. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher F. Yaeger and Daughter-in-Law, Raelaine G. Yaeger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 12:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Atkinson with Father Peter Auer officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 5-7pm at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson and at the church on Thursday from 11:00am until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI.
