Obituary of Bernice Florence Schultz

Bernice Florence Schultz, age 97, of the North Shore area in Fort Atkinson, WI went to heaven on Monday, March 14, 2016 in her daughter Pat's home surrounded by her family members. Bernice was born in LaGrange, Wisconsin on February 15, 1919, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Reider) Hollinger. She attended Hebron, Rome, and Whitewater Schools. On November 17, 1935, Bernice married Wilbur Adolph Schultz. They were married for 51 years and Wilbur preceded her in death on March 24, 1987. Bernice worked as a cook at Highway Eats and also worked for 25 years at Thomas Industries in Fort Atkinson until retiring in 1978. Bernice was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, it's Widow's Club, and served as chairman of Dorcas Society. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, flowers, fishing, and caring for her birds. Her family members enjoyed the crocheting and knitting pieces. Surviving are Five Children: Lucille (Alfred) Virgil, Fort Atkinson, WI, Patricia Granzow, Fort Atkinson, WI, Sharon (Thomas) Schoen, Fort Atkinson, WI, Phyllis (Thomas) Anderson, Beloit, WI, and LeRoy (Dianna) Schultz, Park Falls, WI, Sixteen Grandchildren, Twenty-six Great-grandchildren, and Eight Great-great-grandchildren, Brother: Dean (Harriet) Hollinger, Whitewater, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Bob, Orville, Harry "Ted", and Raymond "Shorty" Hollinger, two sisters: Doris Chady and Mildred Winn; 4 sons-in-law: Don Granzow, Earl Lehman, Kenneth Habeck, and Duane Dummer. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 404 Roosevelt Street, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Ethan Steinbrenner officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 9-11AM on Friday at the church until the time of the services. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Rainbow Hospice, especially Gretchen for the loving care of their Mother. Memorials are suggested to Bethany Ev.
