Obituary of Betty E. Pratt

Betty E. Pratt (Marler) passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 after a long, courageous journey with Alzheimer's Disease. Betty graduated from Hobart High School. In 1946, she married John A. Pratt after he returned from the European WWII duty of liberating concentration camps. Betty and John built their home in Portage Twp in the early 1950's. She retired for NIPSCO. Betty enjoyed reading, art, gardening, needlework, and dancing. She is survived by her daughter Karin (Paul) Delger; granddaughter Catherine Pratt (Charles); daughter-in-law Susan Ferris (Jim); brother Jack (Jeanne); lifelong friend Mary McRitchie-Sims; NIPSCO friends Linda, Blanca, and Sharon. Betty was predeceased by her husband John; son John Michael; parents George and Ola Marler; sisters: Christine and Virginia; and brothers James and Ray. A private service will be held at a later date. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, Wisconsin is assisting the family
