Obituary of Kenneth W. Brereton

Kenneth W. BRERETON, age 77, of Rome, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Countryside in Jefferson, WI. Kenneth was born on May 27, 1931 in Walworth County, the son of the late Tommy and Mable (Pethick) Brereton. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. He farmed on the family farm before going into the service. Following his return, he worked at Gaugert Service in Sullivan for 43 years. He was a Rome volunteer fireman. Kenneth loved John Deere tractors and was his topic of conversation with everyone. He married Carol Trejbal on March 20, 1954. Kenneth was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and the Masons. Surviving are: cousin: Don (Daisy) Brereton, brother and sister-in-law: Keith and Elaine Parker, nephews, and close friends: LaVerne and Dawn Weckler, and Jim and Jeanette Elliot. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol and close friend Juanita Mumme. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 11:00AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Lawrence Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery, Town of Richmond, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10:00AM on Tuesday at the funeral home until the services. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express sympathy may do so through memorials to the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church or to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson County.
