Obituary of Elizabeth Mata Cooper

Elizabeth “Betty” Meta Cooper, 94, Whitewater, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Wellington Meadow Nursing Home.

Betty was born on January 14, 1924 in Marshall, WI to Emil and Helena (Buss) Fisch.  She married Walter Cooper in Marshall, WI. He preceded her in death in 2006.  She and Walter farmed in the Whitewater area where they raised their children.  She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting, crafts of all sorts, singing songs, especially her yodeling.  She crocheted afghans for every one of her children and grandchildren.  She was a member of the North Lima Presbyterian Church. 

She is survived by her children John Cooper, Janesville, WI, Janet (Brian) Grosskreutz, Whitewater, Walter (Carol) Cooper, Big Fork, MN; 12 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Helen Cooper, Milton, WI.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sylvia; daughter-in-law, Carmella; granddaughter, Kimberly; great-grandson, Cody; 2 brothers and 8 sisters.

A private graveside service will take place on Tuesday, May, 1, 2018 in the Cold Spring Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy you may wish to consider memorials to Rainbow Hospice or to the North Lima Presbyterian Church.  The family would like to thank the staff at Wellington Meadows and Rainbow Hospice for their loving care.
