I love you, grandpa! I miss you so much. Some days it's hard to believe you're gone. But someday, we will all be gone, and we'll all get to be with you and everyone we love!

Sue and Family, I'm saddened we lost one of the good guys, a fellow veteran who served in an unpopular war and shed his blood for us. A true family man and servant to his country and community. I'll miss his ever present smile and talking about our respective military service. May he rest in peace.

Sue, Becky & Eric, Serena, Chris & Becky. I am in deep sorrow for all of you and all others in our community who treasured Dwight, his sense of humor, his dedication to the community through his service (both to our country and to our community through his work on the village board), his unquestionable faith in God and his eagerness to help others. I'm going to miss him at Willerup Church and at our community meals held at the Ammundson Center. He never left my presence without making sure there was a smile on my face and another in my heart. I feel a great emptiness with him not walking the earth, but I know he would rather I did not spend time in tears and in mourning, but rather to smile and to remember him for the good husband, father, and grandfather he was and for his faith and community service as he attempted to help all others in our area. And Sue, I am still hugging you as I did at St Mary's and I'm here if you need me for anything.
With sorrow and yet with love and faith,
LaVonne

I am very sorry to hear of Dwight’s passing. In addition to being a good man, he was a brave soldier. I served with him in the same infantry squad for our first 7 months in Vietnam. Together every day and night. He was our squad machine gunner. The most fire power but the biggest target.
He will be missed.

Dwight was a year behind me in high school and was always a well liked, very kind person and we will all miss his sense of humor. When I think of Dwight, I think of his Elvis lamp he had in his office. Susan also dealt with Dwight when she had her business in Cambridge. 2AbfA Our deepest sympathy to his entire family.

Dear Suzie and Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies. Dwight was a wonderful friend of mine and in all of my discussions with him, it was evident how dedicated he was to his family and how much he loved each and every one of you.
I served on the Board of Trustees with Dwight and always admired his objectivity and his compassion for the Village of Cambridge. He treated the Village's money as it was his own, and he always looked out for the Village's, and its residents best interest.
I will miss Dwight's funny jokes, although I have to admit, I didn't always get most of them, but I laughed anyway, just because Dwight always laughed so hard telling them. Dwight was a pure gentlemen. His sense of humor, humble attitude and joy for life and his family is a rare find in people. Dwight's values were inspiring and will sorely be missed.

Dear Sue and family,
I was so sorry to hear about Dwight. Indeed, the last time I saw him at the post office he told me the requisite corny joke. I always enjoyed our chats.
Back when I was the editor we spent a lot of time discussing Cambridge and its residents and there was never any doubt in my mind that he cared very deeply about his home and neighbors. He always tried to help those he interacted with feel better.
He will be missed.
