Mark was a childhood friend and neighbor. We played clarinet together in Linganore school band and kept in touch through the years after I moved to Delaware in high school. After he moved to Wisconsin, I would stop in for visits since I drove a tractor trailer. About 5 years ago, he caught a ride with me back from his home place in Mt. Pleasant to Ft. Atkinson. He was always a Farmall man and gave me a hard time for being an Allis man. He made sure to call me every year on my birthday. I’ll miss him. Eric Hobbs

My family moved across from the Bowers family farm in 1970, and Mark, along with all his family, became wonderful friends to us. Mark was always so good natured and hard working; but what I remember most fondly is his mischievous sense of humor. One instance I recall was when my family and I were just arriving back home from being out of town for several days to find a pick axe lying in front of our door along with a pile of "gold" (me being only about 6 at the time I really thought those gold painted rocks were the real deal!) LOL. We soon learned that Mark was the culprit, and I remember my mother, Verna, being particularly delighted at the prank. She, being a prankster herself, found a kindred spirit in Mark, and they enjoyed playing practical jokes on each other for some time. :-) Sending condolences to all his loved ones from the Withrow family. He was a great guy and we will always have fond memories of him.

Grew up spending time with Mark. He was my cousin’s uncle who was also about our age. Nobody was more fun than Mark as a kid. He just found the fun in everything. We played and inevitably got in trouble constantly aggravating every adult we could.
Mark loved farming. He knew from the beginning that it was a hard way to make a living but he and Kathy wanted it, worked hard at it and never lost their love of it. They found their joy and found their happiness.
Peace to the kids. Remembering Mark will always make me smile.
