Obituary of Joyce C Fielding

Joyce C Fielding, 74, formerly of Mundelein, Illinois passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Our House Memory Care in Whitewater.

Joyce was born on August 16, 1948 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to James and Gladys (Leamon) Fielding. She graduated from Thorton High School in Harvey, Illinois in 1966.  After graduation, Joyce received her Masters degree in accounting from Dominican University. After over 20 years at Wilson’s Sporting Goods, Joyce retired and enjoyed life with her dog, Bentley, family and friends. 

She was an avid quilter, big supporter of animal rescue, enjoyed going to the dog park, and loved to read.  On Saturdays, Joyce and her friend, Karen, would enjoy a slice of pie at Baker’s Square.  Joyce’s favorites included a good chocolate shake, a Grey Goose and tonic water, along with coffee with hazelnut creamer.

Joyce is survived by her son, W. Patrick Costello; and sisters, Jacqueline Delaney of Texas, Judie Pinney of Cary, North Carolina, Janet Yaeger of Palos Park, Illinois; and four-legged companion, Siri the dog.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladys Fielding; brother, James Fielding of Massachusetts; and sisters, Joan Beckman of Monee, Illinois, Jeanne Matson of Orland Hills, Illinois.

A memorial service will take place at 7PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI 53190.  A visitation will take place from 5PM until the time of service.

The family would like to give special thanks to Brittney, Ty, Kaitlyn, Haley, and other staff at Our House memory care of Whitewater for their exceptional care for Joyce. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joyce’s name to ASPCA and the American Cancer Society.
