Obituary of Charles E. Gierzak

Charles E Gierzak age 76 of Fort Atkinson WI passed away Sunday March 4th 2018 at Fort Health Care.

He was born on December 3, 1941 in Washburn, WI to Walter and Mary (Spezak) Gierzak. He spent his early life in Washburn WI and graduated from Washburn High School in 1959. Following high School, he entered the Air Force and served until 1964.  He returned to Washburn and worked on the ore boats, sailing the great lakes.

On July 6, 1968 he married Karen Rose. Following their marriage they moved to Fort Atkinson, WI. where Charles worked for James Way/ Butler then Schenck Accurate retiring in 2002.

Charles was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Fort Atkinson Lions Club. He also was an avid hunter and Packer Fan.

He is survived by his Wife Karen 2 sons Christopher (Yuli) and Craig (Tami Lacount) Gierzak of Fort Atkinson, WI Granddaughter Avril Gierzak, Brother Richard Gierzak of Washburn, WI, sisters Clarice Gierzak of St Paul MN and Janet Puig of Silver Bay MN and many other relatives and friends. He is further survived by his beloved dog Lily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Walter Jr and Gerald and 3 sisters Lois Williamson,Dorothy Volak and Lucille Tetzner.

A service will take place on Friday March 9, 2018 at 6:30pm at the Nitardy Funeral Home 1008 Madison Ave. Fort Atkinson, WI with Fr. Peter Auer officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4:30 until time of service.

Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery Fort Atkinson, WI.

Memorials to the Fort Atkinson Lions Club would be appreciated.
