Obituary of Carol Jeanette Lemke

Carol Jeanette Lemke, age 86, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Facility in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. Carol was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on November 11, 1928, the daughter of Herbert and Ella (Reckner) Behlke. Following St. Paul's Lutheran School, Carol attended vocational school. On June 26, 1948, Carol married Erwin W. Maron, Erv preceded her in death on June 5, 1993. On August 31,1996, Carol married Martin Lemke Jr. Carol worked as a driver for Brown's Cab Service for 32 years. She also had worked at Schweiger Industries of Jefferson, WI and for The Highsmith Company of Fort Atkinson, WI. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, WI. She volunteered many hours at the Fort Hospital and for many years made cakes for special occasions. Carol served as a leader for the Lutheran Girl Pioneers. She enjoyed taking cruises and traveling through the Holy Land, Germany, Ireland and camping throughout the United States. Surviving are: Husband: Martin Lemke, Jr. Fort Atkinson, WI, Step Children: Jackie (Paul) Schwemmer, Fort Atkinson, WI, Daniel (Janelle) Lemke, Cokato, MN, Jim (Nedra) Lemke, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Sara (Dennis) Baumann, Fort Atkinson, WI, Twenty-one grandchildren and Sixteen great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many special nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, 3 brothers, her first husband Erv, and a step-son Martin Lemke III. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Paul Scharrer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, WI and after 10AM on Friday at the Church until the time of the services. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
