Obituary of Kenneth Carl Krause

Kenneth Carl Krause, 92, of Fort Atkinson, went home to his Savior on Saturday morning, January 6, 2018. Born October 21, 1925 in Fort Atkinson to John F. Krause & Elvera (Klietz). He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. He married Marie Leonard on February 22, 1946. She passed away on June 26, 1976. He married Marilyn Schoenfeld on June 29, 1980. Together their children include: Kathleen (Thomas) Beane, Fort Atkinson; Mark (Bonnie) Krause, Jefferson; Marilyn (Rick) Leccese, DeForest; Peggy Cooper, Fort Atkinson; Tammy (Thomas) Meinel, Jefferson; Jayne (Terry) Pfeifer, Cambridge; and John (Lisa) Schoenfeld, Lake Mills. Ken loved life and the time he shared with his family and friends. His entire life was dedicated to dairy farming. He was a Jacques Seed Dealer for many years and an active member of his church. He had an infectious laugh, always quick to listen and slow to speak. His face lit up whenever a child was present, always eager to hear their stories. He was a 'big kid' at heart, known to say, "A burger without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze". He never passed on a good game of euchre or Skip-Bo, served up with a big glass of chocolate milk. He was preceded in death by parents, sisters Helen, Arlene, Janette, and brothers Robert, John, Ralph "Clem" and Richard. He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren: Peter, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Erin, Jenny, Kyle, Whitney, Matthew, Andrew, Thomas, Nicholas, Tayler, Zachary, Jared, Michael, Joshua and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorials can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson and Lakeside Lutheran High School FFA Chapter. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson at 11:00 am. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and again on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. www.nitardyfuneralhome.com
