Obituary of Phyllis Koebke Hoffmann

Phyllis Marie Koebke HOFFMANN, age 84, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away, Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Countryside Home, in Jefferson, WI. �Phyllis was born in Algona, Iowa on November 21, 1924, the daughter of John W. and Matilda (Putzstuck) Brown. Following the death of her mother when Phyllis was 2, her father married Myrtle Peterson. Phyllis worked for the Badger Ammunition Powder Plant during WWII, where she met her future husband, Donald.� On January 9, 1945, Phyllis married Donald John Koebke.� Donald preceded her in death on July 7, 1977.� On September 12, 1981, she married Marvin A. Hoffmann. Marvin preceded her in death on January 25, 1996. Phyllis worked for 20 years at Jones Dairy Farm prior to her retirement.� She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Atkinson, the Order of the Eastern Star and served as a past matron.�� She was an avid card player and a world traveler. �Surviving are: Daughter: Karen� Hicks, Fort Atkinson, WI, and her son Jason, Daughter: Marilyn (Jack) Martin, Helenville, WI, and their daughter, Melissa, Son: Kent (Dianna) Koebke, Fort Atkinson, WI, and their children Karl and William, �Son: Dale (Ruth Ann) Koebke, Verona, WI, and their daughters Lauren (John) and granddaughter Lucy and Carren (Jon), Son: Alan (Marie) Koebke, Van Alstyne, TX, Daughter: DAnn Koebke, Fort Atkinson, WI and her children, Anthony, Demetrius, Sasha, and Sian, Sister: Dorothy (Carl) Brahmstead, Baraboo, WI, Brother: John E. Brown, and Special Friend: Nick Christakis. �Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents John and Matilda Brown, her step mother, Myrtle Brown, her husbands, Donald Koebke and Marvin Hoffmann and her son-in-law, Derl Hicks. �Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 17, 2009, at 11:00AM at the First United Methodist Church, Fort Atkinson with Rev. John W. Wells officiating.� Following a luncheon, burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, North Freedom, Wisconsin. �Friends may call from 5-8PM on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson with an Eastern Star Service at 8:00PM and after 10:00AM on Friday at the church until the services. �Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Fort Atkinson Food Pantry.
