Obituary of Keith L. Hinchley

Keith L. Hinchley-Cambridge Well known longtime area dairy farmer Keith Hinchley of Cambridge, WI. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday April 21, 2009. Keith was born September 1, 1928 to Verne J. and Irene (Howard) in Bloomfield, Waushara County, Wisconsin. The Hinchley's had settled in Waushara County during the 1850's from England, via Canada. �"Dad" as we called him, was always proud of his Great Grandfather who had served in the Wisconsin 37th Infantry during the Civil War. He and his brother Franklin grew up on the family dairy farm outside Freemont, WI. �He attended the Old Log School and Weyauwega High School until the family relocated to a farm near Edgerton for "the better ground" as his father said. While he lived in that area he kept his eye on a pretty neighbor girl, and in August 1948 he married Ruth E. Gretebeck of Stoughton. In 1949 they rented a small dairy farm for several years near Stoughton.� While operating the farm, Keith worked part-time at Thronson's Ford Garage in Edgerton, as a mechanic. In 1954 they moved to a larger farm near Indianford, WI. In 1958 they purchased the farm near Cambridge, WI and made an honest living working the land they loved. Keith and Ruth's dream of a family farm continues today as Hinchley's Dairy Farm operated by his son Duane's' Family. �Keith was preceded in death by his father in 1948, and his mother in 1977, and his brother Franklin in 1989, His loving wife Ruth of 43 years in 1992 of cancer and his second wife Mardell of Weyauwega, WI. 1994, in a tragic auto accident. �He is survived by his children, Douglas (Martha) of Edgerton, Darrell (Kathie Fox) of Cambridge, Marcia (Dale) Klemp of Cambridge, Duane (Tina) of Cambridge and Michelle (Dean) Stolen of Menomonie, WI. He also leaves behind his companion of recent years Susan Turner of Rural, WI. �He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Brett & Sara Hinchley, Troy Hinchley, Dustin & Luke Klemp, Curtis, Spencer, Catherine & Anna Hinchley, Abbey & Riley Stolen and great grandchildren Cody Mortensen, Jazzlyn Hinchley and Brooklyn Grant. �Keith left behind many friends who will miss him greatly. He was a loving father and a kind hearted man who worked hard and enjoyed life. He was actively involved in The Dane County Holstein Breeders, Deerfield Farmers Co-op, Badgerland Oliver Club, Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Assn. and various other farm related organizations. He was still actively engaged in farming through last falls harvest season, spending many hours a day on his Case Stieger tractor which he greatly enjoyed. �He was a tremendous mechanic and avidly collected and restored numerous Ford cars and trucks. As well as over 50 antique tractors, of which his beloved Oliver tractors were number one. He was known to many as Mr. Oliver at various threshing shows around the state. �Visitation for Keith will be Friday, April 24th between 4:00 -8:00 P.M. at Nitardy Funeral Home in Cambridge, WI. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. with visitation at 10:00 A.M., an hour prior to service, at Grace Lutheran Church, Skogen Rd. in Cambridge, WI.
