Obituary of Lois Elaine Prochnow

Lois Elaine (Kohl) Prochnow entered heaven on June 15, 2009. She was born on December 29, 1926, to Margarite (Whitney) and Jens Kohl. Lois Kohl and Donald (Zeke) Prochnow were married on Nov. 22, 1947. Lois was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother. She was a loyal member of the Rockdale Lutheran Church. A kind and gentle soul, and loved by all that met her, she will be missed by us left on earth, but she will have no more illness and pain, only love and healing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (Zeke) Prochnow; her mother; father and a sister, Carol (Dick) Dahnke. She is survived by sons, Dennis (Judy) Prochnow, and Jim (Karla) Prochnow; daughters, Linda (Jack) Taylor, and Mary (Jim) Keller; grandchildren, Brian (Jerri) Boden, Kris (Dennis) Tofte, Stacy (Donnie)Zimmer-man, Daniel (Karen) Keller, Timothy (Jenni) Keller, Jacob Prochnow, Jessica Prochnow, Kristina Prochnow, and Joshua Prochnow; great-grandchildren, Zach Boden, Tyler Tofte, Caitlin Tofte, Josh (Tammy) Knickmeier, Audra Nett, Jack Nett, Anthony Prochnow, Kaleyah Prochnow, and Haylie Keller; a great-great-grandchild, Jayden Knickmeier; a brother, Eugene Kohl; and sisters, Virginia Chadwick, and Darlene (Jerry) McCleod. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18 from 4-7 p.m. at Nitardy Funeral of Cambridge. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 19 from 10-11 a.m. at Rockdale Lutheran Church. We want to thank all the officers, paramedics and Colleen who were so kind in helping in this delicate situation. She will be met at the gates of heaven by her life partner, Donald. She will always be looking down on us through the holes in the floor of Heaven.
