Obituary of Mildred Martin

Mildred Martin, age 91, of Cambridge, was taken home to the Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. She was born on March 12, 1918 in London, WI, to Otto and Meta (Kuhl) Febock. Mildred graduated from Cambridge High School in 1935 in the top 10 of her class. After high school she graduated from Grove Business College. Mildred worked at the Mautz Paint Company and then the newly formed State Industrial Commission. On November 25, 1937 she married Elmer Martin at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Old Deerfield. They had 55 happy years together farming in the London and Cambridge areas before Elmer was called home in January, 1992. Mildred and Elmer were blessed with 4 children: Wayne (Donna) Martin, Marjorie Erickson, Gordon (Karen) Martin, and Debra (Larry) Braatz; 8 grandchildren: Eric (Tracy) Erickson, Jeni (Jeff) Gishwiller, Todd (Jacqui) Martin, Jill (Rev. Kevin) Wattles, Julie (Justin) Nottestad, Ryan Martin, Katie (Matt) Kenseth, and Aaron Martin; Eleven great-grandchildren; and 1 brother: Vern (Lois) Febock. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, LaVerne Erickson. Mildred was known for her beautiful flowers, raspberries, and most of all her loving and caring ways. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral Service will be at 11:00AM on Monday, July 13, 2009 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, County Hwy BB, rural Deerfield, Wisconsin with Rev. Paul Burk officiating. Burial will be in the Kroghville Cemetery, Town of Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Visitation will be at Nitardy Funeral Home, Cambridge, on Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 3-7PM, and from 10AM until the time of service on Monday at the church.
