Obituary of Michael E. Wheeler

Michael E WHEELER, 59, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at his home after a short battle with cancer. Mike was born in Fort Atkinson on January 16, 1950, the son of Eugene and Virginia Wheeler. He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1968. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He married Pam Garthwait, January 8, 1977. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing guitars, wood carving and boating. He was blessed with three daughters, Melissa (Scott Hoerth) of DeForest, Somer (Josh Majewski) of Fort Atkisnon and Jenni of Minneapolis. Survirors include his wife, three daughters, granddaughters Kayleigh Wheeler, Iliana Hoerth and soon to be born, Sunny Majewski, his parents, his sister Nancy, mother-in-law Adeline Garthwait, sister-in-law Mary (Ed) Zech and brother-in-law Dick (Yvonne) Garthwait. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 10:30AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Burial with military graveside services will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 5-7PM on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson and Saturday after 9:30AM until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Rainbow Hospice. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother and he will be greatly missed. His pain and suffering are now over and he is now at peace in the palm of God's hand.
