Obituary of Veronica Ann Davis

Veronica Ann DAVIS, age 69, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, passed away, Monday, August 31, 2009, at the Select Specialty Hospital, in Madison, WI. Veronica was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 26, 1939, the daughter of Herbert and Julia (Neukom) Trees. She graduated from Anderson High School in Anderson, Indiana in 1957 and she received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Indiana University in 1961. She taught Art for 35 years at Jackson Junior High School in Villa Park, Illinois. On July 15, 1989, Veronica married James Davis in Villa Park, Illinois. Veronica was an artist working primarily with watercolors and pen and ink. Her artwork has been recognized with awards at both the state and local levels. She was also a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, The Whitewater Arts Alliance, the Red Hat Society of Whitewater, Florence Basset, and Delta Zeta Sorority. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. She loved to take them shopping, to attend their activities, and to have special one-on-one time with each of them. Surviving are: Husband: James Davis, Whitewater, WI, Two Daughters: Melissa (Douglas) Burmeister, Monticello, IN, and Stephanie Luengen, Elkhorn, WI, Son: Shawn (Susan) Girtz, Twin Lakes, WI, Grandchildren: Samantha and Julia Girtz, Trisha Luengen and Nicolaus Burmeister, Brother: Craig (Dianne) Trees, Anderson, IN, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and one great nephew. Veronica was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Emily Trees. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Whitewater with services following at 11:00AM.
