Steve really loved and enjoyed doing whatever he was doing at the time and he did it so well. He tackled every job with enthusiasm no matter how small or large. He energized people just by standing next to them.
He loved his community, his schools, his wife and his children. He showed that love in everything he did. I know I am a better person for having known him.
I am saddened by the loss of such a wonderful person.

To the Lamsam family,
My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your husband and father! Steve was a wonderful advocate for so much that is good in Whitewater -- for our schools, for the Amazing Graceland band, and for his faith in God.
Of all things, I am in Bangkok, Thailand at this moment -- the place of his birth! I regret that I will not be able to join you for the memorial service, but I am so glad that Noelle is flying in today to take part.
With warmest wishes to each of you in your loss,
Jon Werner (for Barbara, Hans, Noelle, and Abbie)

Dear Noreen, Stephanie and Christopher,
We were all so sad and stunned to hear about Steve's death. I can still see his smile and kind eyes. I worked with your husband/father in Cub Scouts so many years ago, and always remember his being so helpful. I remember him throughout the past many many years always being involved in school activities and always looking out for the welfare of kids in the Whitewater area. He added so much value to so many people's lives, and that is a wonderful legacy. Just before he died I was thinking about a way to educate kids about noise-induced hearing loss. When I asked others who I should speak to and they mentioned perhaps a school board member, I said, "I need to speak to Steve!". He was the "go to " who immediately came to mind for so many issues. He knew what to do, how to get it done, and had the passion to see it through. HIs great love for all of you was evident. We are thankful to have known Steve. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Please accept our condolences.
Love from,
Sonya Naryshkin, Vic Sobolewski, and family (Larissa, Peter and Steven)

To the Lamsam family:
I worked with Steve at Chase and was saddened and shocked by his passing. He was just the nicest guy. He was so quiet and humble, when I read his accomplishments and dedication to his community, I thought to myself "Steve is a real man." He was a simple ordinary person to some, but unknown to many he was an example of the type of person we all should strive to be and I hope I can push myself to achieve even some of the things that Steve did.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Steve will be missed.

Dear Noreen, Stephanie, and Christopher,
Please accept my condolences on behalf of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards staff, and board of directors. Steve epitomized for our association the commitment and leadership that good school board members strive to achieve for the students of their district. Steve was an exemplary leader and champion for quality education in the Whitewater Unified School District.
I consider myself extremely lucky to have met and worked with Steve. He was for all those who met him, an instant friend. His humor and intelligence made working with him inspiring as well as enjoyable. While he lived a life of generosity and concern for others, his love of his family was clear and unequivocal.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lamsam family.
Steve, we will miss you but you will never be forgotten

Executive Director of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards

Dear Noreen, Stephanie & Christopher,
Being with you this last weekend and being able to cry and laugh with you was such a blessing. Our family has lost a true light. Gatherings and events will never be the same. His exuberance for life and love for you all was such an inspiration to me. He made everyone feel welcome and at home.
I know how hard this is for all of you. Know that we are lifting you up in our thoughts and prayers until we can hold you all again next week. We are just a phone call away. As hard as it was to leave you all on Sunday, it was a great comfort seeing all those he touched that are there to support and surround you with love right now.
We love you all and will miss Steve every day.
All our love,
Helen, Paul, Jacey & Alex

Noreen,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I feel honored to have met Steve and yourself. If you or your family need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.
We rented our house from you and Steve for a few years and then Steve helped us find a way to purchase the house. I remember it well because I was not confident that it would work out. Steve was confident and said he would find a way to help me. I think he was like that with everything. While renting, I didn't call much but when I did, he was there. Steve is one of the "good people" in this world. We don't meet people like him often in life and we know we are lucky when we do.
My prayers are with you and your family.

Noreen,
I am so sorry to heave of Steve's tragic death. What a heart-renching loss for you and your family! It was many years ago, but I really enjoyed getting to know Steve and working with him (and you) as we prepared for your wedding. I remember him as being energetic, positive, easy to work with, considerate, a strong extrovert and a people person and a person of integrity. I had a sense he'd be a great partner for you.
In the days to come, may God give you peace and assurance amidst the pain that Steve is with God and that God will walk with you through all the days to come.
Give my condolences to your parents as well.
God's peace and healing,
Luke Bocher
