Obituary of Barbara Joyce Collins

Barbara J. Collins, 75, of Fort Atkinson, WI, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at her daughter�s residence in Eau Claire, WI with her family by her side. Barbara was born July 30, 1934 to Harold and Clara (Venske) Gebhardt in Edgerton, WI. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1952. On June 9, 1956 Barb married Roger Collins at St. Pauls Ev.Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1988. Barb worked at JC Penney, Fort Savings and Loan where she was Vice President, and Citizens State Bank where she retired in 1998. She was an active bowler in her younger days. She and Roger also owned Rog�s Mobile Service in Fort Atkinson. Barb was a 60 year member of her sewing club, which was formed when she was still in high school. She belonged to a supper club, and many other card clubs. Barbara wasTele-Care volunteer through the Fort Atkinson Hospital. She also enjoyed her bus trips to the casinos. Barb was a life-long member of St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran Church. Surviving areher daughter Laurie(Rev. Paul) Sullivan, Eau Claire, WI; Grandchildren: Kimberly (Jonathon) Zarnstorff, Big Bend, WI. ; Michael (Alana) Sullivan, Johnson Creek, WI.; Erin and Daniel Sullivan, Eau Claire, WI.; Great-Grandchildren: Tyler and Alexis Zarnstorff and Cameron Drost; Sister: Lorraine(Edward) Birk, Fort Atkinson, WI; Sisters-in-law Marymae(Frank) Parks, Helen Brown and brother-in-law William Collins; and niece and goddaughter Jennifer ( Stephen) Schroeder, Milton, WI.; a special friend, Charles Sturm, Watertown and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her parents, brother-in-law; George, Dale and Purley Collins, sisters-in-law; Viola Collins and Edna Peterson. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 1:00pm at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Michael Duncan and Rev. Paul Scharrer officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, located in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may visit on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 4-7pm at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson and on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 12:00pm until the time of the service. As an expression of sympathy, you may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul�s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Lakeside Lutheran High School.
