Obituary of Anita Christina Quam

Anita C. QUAM, age 98, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010, at Countryside Home, in Jefferson. Anita was born in Lima Center, Wisconsin on May 9, 1911, the daughter of Otto F. and Bertha (Hartwig) Kunkel. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1929 and from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. She did post graduate work in surgery. Anita worked as a surgical nurse unitl her retirement in 1973. On September 12, 1942, Anita married Elmer J. Joyce. Elmer preceded her in death on February 25, 1971. On June 13, 1973, Anita married Ranold F. Quam. Ranold preceded her in death on September 15, 1980. Anita was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Fidelis Circle, as well as the Fort Atkinson Women's Club, the Fort Atkinson Vocational Homemakers, The Ingelside Club, the Historical Society, AARP Area Chapter #1682, Lutheran Hospitals of Milwaukee Nurses Alumni, Coterie Club, and Honorary Member of the Martha Chapter #66 of the Eastern Star. Surviving are: Cousins: Lois and Dave Bielefeldt, Ray and Lola Peterson, Don and Marie Peterson, and Friends: Sally and Robert Davis, all of Fort Atkinson, WI. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson with Rev. Bryan Engfer and Rev. Bill Beyer officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10:00AM on Tuesday at the church until the services.
