Obituary of Robert R. Christianson

Robert �Whiskers� CHRISTIANSON, age 89, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Wellington Meadows, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Bob was born in Cambridge, Wisconsin on February 19, 1921, the son of Ludwig and Bertha (Johnson) Christianson. He lived in Cambridge, Wisconsin for 80 years, moving to Fort Atkinson in 2001. Bob served his country in the U.S.Army Infantry during WWII, and was a Purple Heart reipient. On January 24, 1947, he married Betty E. Nelson in Delavan, Wisconsin. Betty preceded him in death on January 5, 1995. He worked at Friske's Pet Food in Jefferson for 20 years, retiring in 1983, and then for a time worked at Culver�s in Fort Atkinson. Bob was a member of the American Legion and a past member of the VFW in Cambridge. Surviving are: Two Sons: Lloyd Allen (Ronda) Christianson, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Matthew Gerome (Rhonda) Christianson, Glidden, WI, Grandchildren: Loren, Derek, Kyle and Kelly, Step-Grandson: Heath Schroedl, Sister-in-law: Bernadine Christianson, Cambridge, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Ormal and Carl�and sisters, Mildred, Beatrice and an infant sister. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 11:00AM at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Fort Atkinson. Burial will be in the East Koshkonong Cemetery, Town of Christiana, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 4-7PM on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson and after 10AM on Thursday at church until the services.
