Obituary of Calvin T. Keil

Calvin T. KEIL, age 82, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Fairhaven Retirement Community, Whitewater, WI. Calvin was born in Sabula, Iowa on April 8, 1928, the son of Arnold and Anna (Johnson) Keil. Calvin was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He graduated from Miles High School in Iowa. On June 12, 1949, Calvin married Frances Gruhn in Sabula, Iowa. Calvin farmed for 27 years in Sabula, Iowa and the family moved to Lancaster, Wisconsin where he farmed for 20 years. Cal was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jefferson, WI. He was a life long Masonic and Shrine member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing dart ball. Survived by: Wife: Frances Keil, Whitewater, WI, Two Daughters: Sharon (Wayne) Lawrence, Mesa, AZ, and Cindy Smith, Frisco, TX. Two Sons: Steve (Erna) Keil, Whitewater, WI, and Ron (Joan) Keil, Springfield, PA. Grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Stephanie, Leah, Adam, Christopher, Jason and Timothy. Great-Grandchildren: Logan, Grace, Luke, and Nate. Preceded in death by; his parents, and two brothers Leroy and Eldon. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 19, 2010, 11:00AM at St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church, 324 S. Sanborn Ave., Jefferson, Wisconsin. Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Bellevue, Iowa. Friends may call from 5-7PM on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, Wisconsin including a Masonic Service at 6:45PM. Friends may also call at 10AM on Monday at the church prior to the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
